Step 1: Download a Bangla Font
- You can find Bangla fonts online from websites like BanglaFonts, OmicronLab, or Google Fonts (for fonts like Noto Sans Bengali).
- Download the font file, which should be in
.ttf
or.otf
format.
Step 2: Install the Font on Your System
- Windows:
- Right-click the downloaded font file and select Install.
- Alternatively, go to Control Panel > Fonts and drag the font file into the Fonts folder.
- Mac:
- Double-click the font file.
- In the Font Book window, click Install Font.
This will install the font on your system, making it available in all applications, including Adobe Photoshop.
Step 3: Enable Middle Eastern & South Asian Language Options in Photoshop
- Open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > Type.
- Under Choose Text Engine Options, select Middle Eastern and South Asian.
- Restart Photoshop for the changes to take effect.
Step 4: Use the Bangla Font in Photoshop
- Open a new document or an existing project in Photoshop.
- Select the Text Tool (T), and in the Font dropdown, find the Bangla font you installed.
- Start typing in Bangla. If you need to type directly in Bangla, you can use a Bangla keyboard layout or a Bangla typing tool like Avro Keyboard (for Windows) or Bijoy (for Mac) to type in Bangla script.
Additional Tips:
- If the Bangla characters don’t display correctly, ensure you’re using a Unicode Bangla font.
- For complex Bangla characters and ligatures, Adobe’s support for the South Asian text composer (enabled in Step 3) will help render characters properly.
After following these steps, you should be able to type in Bangla in Adobe Photoshop with your installed font!
